The knob layout of the Hoof Fuzz is pretty simple, featuring Tone, Fuzz, Level and the newly added Shift knobs. The Shift knob controls the frequency response of the tone control. Essentially, when the shift is rotated clockwise on the EarthQuaker Devices Hoof Fuzz Pedal, it give you that scooped mids metal tone and when spun the other way, the mids return. The shift knob also has a center detente at 12 o'clock which, when centered, makes this version of the Hoof Fuzz sound like the old version that lacked the Shift knob.
