The #1 Drum Set for Kids
The De Rosa DRM312 Children's Drum Set is one of the best selling kid's drum set available today — an all-around amazing instrument and a great choice for any young aspiring drummer! Designed for small children, generally around the ages of 3 to 5 years old, the set is a popular choice because it clearly has a great sound, at a great price, and comes with everything your little one needs to start playing today. This really is the perfect set for any youngster to learn to play the drums, so give your little drummer boy or girl the "gift of music" today and make sure that their future will be enriched by their musical experience.
Great sound for a great price
If your child seriously wants to learn the drums, then they deserve a serious musical instrument, not an overpriced toy. Although designed for children, make no mistake about it — this drum set is no toy! In fact, it is designed and built using real drum specifications to serve as a scaled-down version of an adult set, using materials equivalent to those used in higher-priced adult drum sets, and has many of the same features as an adult set. One of these features is that the set is fully tunable, both top and bottom heads, to ensure that you are always getting the sound you want. And best of all, it is not only priced affordably, it is actually one of the least expensive children's drum sets around!
Both the stool and the snare and tom-tom drums are easily adjusted to keep up with your growing child |
Sturdy construction - built to last
In addition to sounding great, the De Rosa DRM312 Children's Drum Set boasts an extremely solid and sturdy construction, making it quite durable and thus able to hold up very well under your child's playing. The drums themselves feature birch wood shells and black-plated authentic metal hardware. Additionally, the compact design ensures that they will fit easily in small rooms and tight spaces without taking up too much space. The set itself is comprised of 3 actual drums — a 12-inch bass drum, an 8-inch snare, and an 8-inch tom-tom — along with an 8-inch brass ride cymbal, bass drum kick pedal, adjustable drum stool, drum sticks, and tuning key.
Grows along with your child
With the De Rosa DRM312 Children's Drum Set, your child is sure to be growing in musical ability, but that's not the only growing they'll do — they are getting bigger and taller every day. Any parent can testify to just how quickly their kids can outgrow their clothes. Drums are no different of course — sooner or later, your kids will outgrow anything. However the De Rosa DRM312 Children's Drum Set helps to avoid this by growing right along with your child. Both the stool and the drums are easily adjustable, and can be lifted or lowered depending on the child's height, so you can rest easy knowing that your little drummer will remain comfortable and retain good posture while playing.
Learning an instrument is educational as well as recreational, and the drums are an especially great choice for kids due to the athleticism, dexterity, coordination, and cognitive ability that one learns by playing them — no other instrument engages so many parts of the body at once! |
Why should kids learn the drums?
Learning to play the drums is not only fun for a child, but also an incredibly beneficial educational opportunity. Much like learning a second language, learning to play an instrument early in life, when motor skills are still being developed, is much easier than later on. Studies have shown time and again that there is a direct correlation between learning to play an instrument and academic achievement — in other words, kids who study a musical instrument (especially from a young age) are much more likely to do better in school. Drums in particular are particularly adept at teaching rhythm, timing, precise movement, flexibility, and fine hand-eye coordination — skills that are incredibly important to a young one. Scientists have also established that practicing precise movement and honing motor skills at a young age spurs development of the brain and the ability to perform higher cognitive functions, and a child's development of skills like rhythm and timing is crucially linked to speech flow, motor tasks, athletic ability, and other important qualities. Movement is in fact "essential for the future physical, sensory, perceptual, psychological, and mental development of the child," and since no other instrument requires the total involvement of the body like the drums, playing the drums is just as much an athletic pursuit as a musical one.
Everything you need to start playing today
This drum set makes a wonderful music gift for kids, and perhaps the best reason for this is because it contains everything your child needs to get started, all in one convenient package. As with all drum sets, some minor assembly is needed before being able to play, however easy set-up instructions are included with the package. You can also access an in-depth video walkthrough of the set up process available online to easily guide you through assembling the set ( Assembly Instructions Part 1 & Part 2 ). Replacement parts are also available.
